Critical Account Manager- Process Solutions

As Critical Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing your designated accounts to assure commercial targets are achieved with 100% alignment to the vision and goals of the strategic plan. Key to your success in this role is the ability to develop strong relationships with customers and promote the company’s portfolio of innovative Life Science products.

Reporting to the Head of Sales – Process Solutions responsibilities include:
• Lead sales and service initiatives within the designated accounts that create and capture value faster than our competitors, in line with the goals of the Merck Strategic plan
• Responsible for the development, writing and implementation of a key account sales/strategy plan in line with the goals of the Merck strategic plan
• Responsible for the effective and efficient management of key accounts and for advancing Merck’s competitive position within these accounts
• Responsible for and reporting back to the broader sales organisation on competitor surveillance and market intelligence obtained in the designated accounts
• Communicating effectively with support staff to manage day to day customer service, distribution and technical support issues arising from their designated
• Submitting accurate and reliable reports at agreed timelines and schedules
• Maintaining and updating the CRM database on a regular basis and provision of accurate and detailed account sales progress when required

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
• BSc (minimum) with experience in the areas of Biopharmaceutical manufacturing, Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering
• Laboratory experience (minimum 2 years)
• Previous Sales experience in the Scientific field (Biotech pharma) highly regarded
• Commercial acumen and market awareness
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with both written and verbal communications and negotiation
• Outstanding planning, organising and time management skills
• A commitment to live the Merck values
• A high level of results orientation and always thrive for excellence
• A positive attitude
• A valid driver’s licence
• Ability and willingness to travel locally, interstate and internationally as required
